Freelance Technical Manager

 

I am available for Technical Project Management work, offering a turnkey project management service to clients on multi-camera productions.

 

My experience managing multi camera productions for TV, Cinema & Streaming, across all genres means I am ideally suited to help you realise your production goals.

 

I can help source suppliers or work with existing ones, to plan and manage the technical delivery of your event coverage, working as Technical Producer / Engineering Manager / Unit Manager. Managing budgets, suppliers, crew, logistics and H&S.

 

      Experience:

  • Working with production teams to assess technical project requirements

  • Carrying out site visits and acting as the central point of contact for technical contractors

  • Planning the distribution of feeds via satellite, fibre, microwave and IP

  • Book and manage all third party facilities such as outside broadcast units & satellite uplinks

  • Produce all production and H&S documentation (Planning sheets / RAMS)

  • Manage on-site rig of all vehicles, kit, cabling, and ensure all required feeds are provided

BBC Two - Flood To The Sea
 
James Poole TV provided OB facilities for BBC Two coverage of 'Flood To The Sea'.
Set in a post apocalyptic world with the human race surviving on boats and rafts,
we had our work cut out to bring this ambitious live performance to screens.
The production included 8 camera coverage, with jibs, drones, RF boats,
floating caravans, sinking cars, exploding electricity pylons, fishing boats and lots
of rain and pyrotechnics!
Live Theatre - Shakespeare, The Winters Tale
 
James Poole TV provided OB facilities and live international distribution for coverage of 'Shakespeare - The Winters Tale', performed at the famous Barbican Guildhall Theatre.
The production included 6 camera coverage, multi-language subtitling and live distribution via a dual antenna satellite uplink with an MCR technical helpline, for international takers of the performance.
